I confess. I have a huge passion for Military issued field watches. I own seven mil issued watches from a plastic Westclox dated 1965 through to more modern watches like the CWC G10 and Stocker and Yale Gulf war period model. One thing they all have in common is the strap. We assume because the NATO style strap is the default strap for military watches that they would all come on a double pass strap but suprisingly they don't. They come with a olive drab nylon single pass strap and all are issued with that strap except the G10. And the straps are all super comfortable, lightweight, strong and slim profile which means they dry fast too which if we are honest something we can't say about double pass NATO style straps.  One of the main advantages of a double pass strap is they make the watch more secure in case of a spring bar failure but so does a single pass too. If a spring bar pops on your watch its secured by the other one to the loop of material tied to your wrist. So whilst searching endlessly for a 17mm single pass nylon strap for one of my issued field watches it occured to me that actually why not get some made in 20mm to fit my Daily Beater and Noto Oggin watches.
