Following on from your incredible feedback and reviews of our Daily Beater Field watch, I humbly present to you, our second watch: The NOTO OGGIN, Mil-Spec dive watch for those of us who love high performance tool watches who probably don't dive much in the ocean or the Oggin as a bootneck calls it. When I was in the military I would come into contact with special forces soldiers and apart from being highly effective operators one thing that always stood out about these guys was their sick sense of humour. It was crime for anyone who took themselves too seriously and for anyone who turned up with an Arnie US Navy SEAL, approved by Johnny Rambo sniper watch then stand by for a royal rinsing. I was lucky to have spent a fair bit of time with lads from the Royal Marines and as hard and deadly as they all were, they would love to rip the piss and get dressed up in a tutu for a run ashore dressed in silly rig right before jumping in the freezing oggin. Performance mattered but so did humility. So my inspiration for this design was the Mil-W-50717 US Military Specification of watches originally created for military divers back in the 70's. I wanted to create a modern version that was highly specced, accurate, good looking, tough, designed to get wet and cheaper than a Seiko or G-shock to buy and own. This is a watermans watch whether its swimming, snorkelling, surfing, scuba diving, fishing, jumping in muddy puddles with your kids or dragging your dog out of the park lake. Its designed to get wet. A lot. No it is not a dive computer and it doesnt have decompression times printed on the strap, its a watch for every day watermen (and women). I wanted a watch that got better looking with age and use, I wanted it to be fire and forget so I went with the mega accurate and reliable Seiko VH31 quartz movement with the cool semi-sweeping seconds hand. Domed sapphire crystal and pumpkin lume to give it a sweet vintage and less sterile look. Pressure tested to 200 metres of water Resistance, screw-down crown and caseback. I also wanted a 12 hour bezel that you can actually use to track a second time zone when travelling or drinking pina coladas in the pool in Tenerife.
